Sandpiper

This story is called "Sandpiper" because it makes reference to a bird, and as we know birds are free. So we can see this in the story that the narrator wants to be "free" and return to her homeland; but she can not do it because she has a little daughter with an egyptian and she does not want to push her daughter away from his father. Sandpipers are hybridise birds, this means that they can mate with other birds. In this strory the narrator also mate with someone from another culture.
